Sunday Reflections: Balancing Discipline and Family in the Grind
Sundays hit different. Quiet coffee, Bible open, reflecting on how far we’ve come from those early McDonald’s shifts to building a life here in Calgary.
Life as a realtor pulls you every direction. Showings, contracts, late nights crunching numbers for that next BRRRR. But family? Dyan and I learned early, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Remember my old Prius days? Drove that thing to the ends of Canada, but I’d still carve out time for date nights, no matter how tight the schedule.
Discipline isn’t just gym 5x a week or saving for that infill. It’s saying no to burnout, yes to rest. God wired us for balance, ha?
Like when we house-hacked Bridlewood, renting basement rooms to buy back time. Sacrifice builds freedom, but family keeps it real.
Faith reminds me, seasons change. From survival cars leaking oil to our Tesla keeper, every upgrade was God’s timing. Same with homes, fatherhood on the horizon.
Stay consistent, even when it’s messy.
Keep showing up for what matters. Your discipline today echoes in tomorrow’s peace.
